TVS Motor, Sundaram-Clayton CSR gesture for tribals

Tirupati: Srinivasan Services Trust (SST), the social arm of TVS Motor Company and Sundaram-Clayton Limited, as part of its philosophy of holistic village development, has constructed two pipe culverts and installed Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant to the underserved people of Juvimani Khandriga tribal village in Venkagatagiri mandal of Tirupati district with active participation from the community and local government.
The culverts and plant were inaugurated by M. Kiran Kumar, RDO and Surya Narayana Reddy, DSP from Gudur. These infrastructures, consisting of two pipe culverts, serve as essential passageways, enabling people to access basic necessities from the outside world during the rainy season. Additionally, the reverse osmosis plant will ensure the health of the community by providing clean and safe drinking water, contributing to overall wellbeing. SST is also working on water supply measures in Neelakantapuram, another tribal village, with a total investment of around Rs.17 lakh .
Following this, a felicitation was held to honour and recognise 12 dedicated government officials who serve the community with remarkable dedication, passion, and compassion in Venkatagiri mandal. SST is embarking on a transformative journey aimed at achieving holistic development in 10 tribal hamlets in the coming years, with government and community participation.
According to a press release, in the last 12 years, SST has been working closely with more than 70 villages in Venkatagiri mandal in the areas of women empowerment, water conservation, improving income of families through better agriculture and livestock practices and facilitating new microenterprises and preservation of the environment. SST has invested more than Rs.3 crores over the last 12 years for community development initiatives. All these initiatives had the participation of the community and the local government in every activity making it unique.
